Based in the global headquarters in Brussels or in the Netherlands, subject to regular presence in our Brussels office, with possibilities of frequent travel across Deminor’s various offices.

Four years ago, in addition to investment recovery, Deminor started funding antitrust actions. In 2020 commercial litigation funding was added as a third business line.
To respond to growing interest and demands for litigation funding in the Netherlands, Deminor is now looking for a talented Legal Counsel to support the existing international team of 30 professionals with identifying, assessing and managing litigation funding investments in the Netherlands.
You will be part of a growing, international and diverse team of highly experienced professionals and be responsible for sourcing, assessing and managing litigation funding opportunities in the Netherlands. You will also be involved in funding opportunities in other markets, depending on your areas of expertise.
You will be in charge of funding projects throughout the entire investment selection process, from sourcing to approval. You will review funding requests submitted to Deminor, interact with potential clients, their counsels and experts and negotiate funding terms.
Once approved by the Investment Committee, you will be involved in the drafting of funding documents, monitor the litigation and the deployment of our capital and manage the case up until completion (court decision, settlement) and payment of our return.
The position also requires significant and continuous involvement in commercial projects and activities to increase Deminor’s visibility in the Netherlands and to attract new funding opportunities. You will therefore devote time to marketing and will proactively contact corporations, law firms and institutions (arbitration centres, etc.) in these markets to introduce Deminor. You will propose and implement marketing initiatives to the Executive Committee.
- An outstanding academic record with a major in Dutch law;
- 3 to 6 years of experience in the litigation department of a Dutch law firm or in a large corporation (with exposure to Dutch litigation work);
- Experience in international litigation/arbitration and ideally in collective redress;
- Native Dutch speaker with excellent command of English. Additional languages are a plus;
- Rigorous mindset combined with excellent time management ;
